Arsenal and England considering Bukayo Saka ‘compromise’ as Gunners sweat over fitness

England and Arsenal could agree for Bukayo Saka to be rested for the Three Lions clash with Australia as part of an injury ‘compromise’. The Gunners’ academy graduate has become an injury worry over the past few weeks. Following a hectic start to the season, Saka has been withdrawn with a problem in each of his last three outings - his latest premature exit coming in Arsenal’s 2-1 Champions League defeat to Lens . That left the winger as a major doubt ahead of this weekend’s clash with Manchester City . He was surprisingly named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the upcoming international break. According to Mail Online , members of Arsenal and England’s medical staff have come together with a plan of action for Saka. It is suggested that he will report to St George’s Park as normal next week with the remainder of the squad. However, he will take part in a decreased training programme, while also being rested for Friday’s friendly against Australia at Wembley. Saka would then return to full training after that game with a view of playing a role in the Three Lions’ Euro qualifier against Italy. A final decision will be made after Arsenal’s clash with Man City.
