Live: A40 clears near GCHQ after two cars crash on busy road
The A40 Gloucester Road has now cleared after being partially blocked following a crash. The collision reportedly involved two vehicles near the GCHQ, Gloucestershire Police said. Traffic was queuing on the busy road, according to traffic monitoring system Inrix, with delays towards Gloucester. In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Glos Police Special Ops wrote earlier: "#OT63 is currently at scene of a two vehicle RTC near to GCHQ on the A40 in #Cheltenham. Road is partially blocked whilst vehicles are recovered. Apologies for the delay." Inrix reported: "A40 Gloucester Road Westbound partially blocked, queueing traffic due to accident, two vehicles involved before Arle Court Roundabout. Affecting traffic towards Gloucester." According to Inrix, the road cleared by 1.45pm.
